Additional Therapies
For your most effective therapy experience & outcome, we utilize additional interventions & techniques from the following models:
-
Structural & Strategic Family Therapy
The Family Therapy approach looks at the structure of a family unit to improve interactions between family members. This approach to therapy has become one of the dominant forms of family intervention. We address how members relate to one another with the goal of improving communication & relationships. We create positive change, reorganize hierarchy and create a more cohesive family unit as a whole.
-
Solution Focused Therapy
As suggested, Solution Focused Therapy focuses on solutions. This form of therapy builds upon the acknowledgement of past successes as a springboard into utilizing strengths to create change. Guiding the client to greater levels of confidence through past victories allows for more creative solutions in present, which can create a brighter future.
-
PolyVagal Theory
The Polyvagal Theory addresses the autonomic nervous system (ANS) as our regulatory system. It is responsible for our fight/flight activation and corresponding adaptive behavioral strategies. We help map individual ANS to learn greater flexibility and behavioral change. Mapping also helps clients correctly code any faulty neuroception and lends itself to creating greater flexibility within the ANS allowing for more accurate coding of cues and increased self regulation.
-
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a directive therapy where therapists teach clients how to develop effective ways of coping for a range of problems. It addresses faulty thinking & behaviors. These cognitive errors often manifest in negative patterns that impact emotional states & behavioral strategies. We aim to disrupt negative patterns and create positive, stable thinking, emotional and behavioral patterns.
-
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy. DBT continues to identify and change negative thinking patterns and pushes for positive behavioral changes. DBT may be used to treat suicidal and other self-destructive behaviors
-
Addictions Therapy
Our staff uses a wide variety of psychoeducational materials and interventions. We can help determine where one may fall in the misuse, abuse, addictions curve as well as what level of motivation one might have towards recovery. We help people better understand their relationship to alcohol, identify negative impacts and explore alternative coping strategies.
We seek to find the best approaches for you.
